Vážení,

dovolujeme si Vám předat následující nabídky:


  *   Rektorátní výběrové řízení na výzkumný pobyt na Brown University (BU) v akademickém roce 2026/2027 v souladu s Memorandem o spolupráci uzavřeným mezi UK a BU, na němž participují dvě fakulty – FF a MFF. V aktuální výzvě může FF a MFF pouze nominovat kandidáty, kteří si zajistí vlastní financování. Nabídka je určena studentům magisterských a doktorských studijních programů. Vybraní kandidáti budou mít možnost realizovat část výzkumu v rámci své diplomové nebo dizertační práce pod vedením supervisora na BU.
Zájemci odevzdají následující dokumenty v angličtině:

     *   Motivační dopis (maximálně jedna strana), který obsahuje účel žádosti a důvody, proč se o tuto nabídku ucházíte.
     *   Návrh výzkumného projektu (maximálně 5 stran, včetně poznámek pod čarou a bibliografie; písmo Times New Roman, velikost 12, řádkování 1,6, standardní okraje, formát US Letter). Návrh by měl:
        *   definovat výzkumné téma a vysvětlit jeho propojení s výzkumnými zájmy některého z vyučujících na Brown University;
        *   formulovat jasnou výzkumnou otázku vedoucí ke konkrétním výstupům (např. diplomová práce, disertační práce nebo publikace v recenzovaném časopise);
        *   přednost budou mít ty projekty, které obsahují dopis od vyučujícího z Brown University vyjadřující zájem o vedení výzkumu.
     *   Strukturovaný životopis (CV)
     *   Doporučující dopis od současného školitele (magisterského nebo doktorského studia) na UK.
Interní fakultní uzávěrka je stanovena na 16. listopadu 2025. Požadované dokumenty prosím zašlete e-mailem na adresu OVZS (ovzs na matfyz.cuni.cz<mailto:ovzs na matfyz.cuni.cz>). Kandidáti doporučení fakultou mohou být na základě uvážení BU následně vyzváni k online interview před výběrovou komisí BU.


  *   15. ročník prestižní LERU (The League of European Research Universities) Doctoral Summer School. Letní škola se uskuteční ve dnech 6.–11. září 2026 na Katolické Univerzitě v Lovani (KU Leuven). Tématem letošní školy je: „Inter-, Multi- and Transdisciplinary Perspectives on Health“. Doktorand/ka z UK nebude platit účastnický poplatek. Cestovní náklady vybranému účastníkovi hradí RUK formou refundace fakultě.
     *   Podmínky účasti: vybraný účastník se zavazuje zapojit se po návratu z letní školy do aktivní diseminace získaných zkušeností a spolupracovat s PR Univerzity Karlovy například formou rozhovoru apod.

Dear all,

Let us inform you about the following offers:


  *   Brown University (BU), in accordance with the Brown-Charles Memorandum of Understanding, announces a Call for Visiting Research Fellows. Students enrolled in Master’s or PhD programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and the Faculty of Arts of Charles University are encouraged to apply. For the academic year 2026/2027, applications from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics for a self-funded visiting research fellow position are accepted, i.e., applicants must expect to secure their own funding. Accepted applicants will spend part of the academic year 2026/2027 conducting research for their MA or PhD thesis under the supervision of a Brown faculty member.
Applicants must submit the following documents in English:

     *   Letter of intent (maximum one page) outlining the purpose of the application
     *   Research proposal (A maximum of five pages (including footnotes and bibliography), Times New Roman 12, 1.6-line space, standard page margins, US letter)

The proposal should:

        *   Define the research topic and explain its connection to the research interests of a Brown faculty member.
        *   Articulate a clear research question leading to specific outcomes (e.g., MA thesis, PhD dissertation, or publication in a refereed journal).
        *   Preference will be given to proposals that include a letter of interest from a Brown faculty member expressing willingness to supervise the research.
     *   Curriculum Vitae
     *   A letter of support from the student’s advisor (MA or PhD) at Charles University
Interested applicants should email all documents to the Research and International Affairs Department (OVZS) at ovzs na matfyz.cuni.cz<mailto:ovzs na matfyz.cuni.cz> by November 16, 2025. Finalists may be invited to participate in an online interview with the Brown selection committee.


  *   Prestigious 15th LERU (The League of European Research Universities) Doctoral Summer School focusing on “ Inter-, Multi- and Transdisciplinary Perspectives on Health.” The Summer School will take place on September 6–11, 2026, at KU Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven). The fee is waived for Charles University PhD students. The Rectorate of Charles University will reimburse the Faculty for travel costs.
     *   Conditions of participation: The selected participant commits to actively disseminating the knowledge and experience gained after returning from summer school and cooperating with the Charles University PR team, for example, by giving an interview.
