[OGAP-l] Centra vědecké excelence Dioscuri / Dioscuri Centres of Excellence

Vážené kolegyně,
Vážení kolegové,

rádi bychom Vás upozornili, že se blíží lhůta pro podání žádostí o program DIOSCURI.

Dokumenty vyžadující potvrzení hostující instituce (Attachment 2: Declaration of the Czech Host Institution a "Žádost o poskytnutí dotace") k návrhů DIOSCURI center bude podepisovat paní rektorka. Termín zaslání na RUK je 18. 7. 2022, návrhy budou zaslány KR k hlasování per rollam.

V tuto chvíli evidujeme na OGAP dvě připravované žádosti - z Fyzikálního ústavu a ÚFALu.

Pokud by ještě někdo další plánoval do letošní výzvy DIOSCURI žádost podávat, prosíme Vás o krátkou informaci a zaslání potřebných podkladů nejpozději v týdnu před 18. 7. ke kontrole OGAP.

Dioscuri program je program iniciovaný Společností Maxe Plancka, řízený Společností Maxe Plancka a českým Ministerstvem školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy a společně financovaný MŠMT a německým Spolkovým ministerstvem pro vzdělávání a výzkum umožňující vznik a financování center vědecké excelence Dioscuri. Jde o projekt výzkumné skupiny trvající po dobu 5 let složený ze tří komponentů, kterými jsou hostitelská instituce, lídr Dioscuri centra a partner ze Spolkové republiky Německo ve funkci mentora. Účelem vzniku Dioscuri center je posílit mezinárodní standardy vědecké excelence a rozšířit vědeckou excelenci a její spolupráci v regionu střední a východní Evropy. Účelem dotace je realizace projektu výzkumné skupiny na české vědecké instituci s podporou partnera ze SRN v podobě konkrétního Dioscuri centra věcně zaměřeného na vědní disciplínu stanovenou v rámci Výzvy, které bude provádět špičkový, mezinárodně konkurenceschopný a inovativní výzkum. V rámci 1. výzvy pro Dioscuri centra se počítá se založením až tří Dioscuri center s dobou trvání 5 let. Maximální výše dotace pro 1 Dioscuri centrum stanovena na 1 rok je 300 000 EUR. Spoluúčast instituce je min. 25 000 EUR ročně a dále hostitelská instituce platí administrativu projektu po celou dobu jeho trvání.

Podmínky pro lídra DC:
- dokončil Ph.D. studium maximálně 15 let před uzávěrkou přihlášek (ženy mohou připočítat 18 měsíců za každé dítě, muži mohou připočítat počet měsíců rodičovské dovolené, je-li to relevantní)
- v průběhu své vědecké kariéry prokázal mezinárodní mobilitu, např. vykonával doktorské studium a post-doktorské studium na různých výzkumných institucích (z toho alespoň na jedné mimo Českou republiku), vytvořil si síť mezinárodních spolupracovníků a má za sebou publikační činnost v mezinárodních vědeckých časopisech s dosahem mimo Českou republiku
- nevykonával svou hlavní výzkumnou činnost v rámci žadatele (na půdě hostitelské instituce) déle než dvanáct měsíců v průběhu tří let bezprostředně předcházejících uzávěrce přihlášek

Dear colleagues,

we would like to draw to your attention the approaching deadline for the submission of the DIOSCURI programme applications.

The documents needing a signature from Charles University (Attachment 2: Declaration of the Czech Host Institution and "Žádost o poskytnutí dotace"/Request for Funding) to the proposals for the establishment of the DIOSCURI centres will be signed by the Rector. The deadline to send the proposals to the Rectorate is June 18, 2022; the proposals will also be evaluated by the Rector's Board.

At present we are aware of 2 proposals in preparation - one from the Institute of Physics and one from the Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics.

If there are any more candidates for this year's DIOSCURI call, please inform us as soon as possible and send all the necessary documents the latest during the week before July 18 for the control of the Department of Grants and Projects.

The Dioscuri programme is a programme initiated by the Max Planck Society. It is coordinated by the Max Planck Society and the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MEYS), financed jointly by the MEYS and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It enables establishment and funding of centres of scientific excellence Dioscuri. The projects are for 5 years and they are composed of 3 partners - the host institution, leader of the Dioscuri Centre and a partner from Germany in the function of a mentor. The reason to establish the Dioscuri centres is to strenghten the international standards of the excelence in research and deepen of the scientific excellence in the region of central and Eastern Europe. The funding will serve to support establishment of a scientific research group at a Czech research institution in cooperation with a German partner in a research discipline named in the Call. The new research group should facilitate internationally competitive and innovative research of best quality. In the first Dioscuri centres Call, up to 3 Dioscuri centres should be created, with the support in the duration of 5 years. The max. support of 1 Dioscuri centre is 300 000 EUR per annum. The host institution must support the centre by min. 25 000 EUR per year and it also finances the centre's administration for the full project duration.

The conditions for application as a DC leader:
- Ph.D. studies finished max. 15 years prior to the application deadline (female applicants can add extra 18 years for each child and men can add the months spent at the parental leave, if applicable)
- in the duration of their scientific career, they participated in the international mobility, e.g. they have joint different institutions for their Ph.D. and postdoctoral programmes (at least one of these must have been outside of the Czech Republic); they have established a network of international co-workers and they publish in international research journals with outreach beyond the borders of the Czech Republic
- they have not worked in the research for the future host institution in the main employment contract for more than 12 months in the duration of the last 3 years before the DC application deadline
