[OGAP-l] Sedmá výzva Výzkumného fondu CELSA 2022 / 7th Call of the CELSA Research Fund 2022

Vážení kolegové,

byla publikována nová, již sedmá výzva výzkumného fondu CELSA pro rok 2022.

Podporu je možné získat ve všech vědních disciplínách pro společné vědecké projekty členů aliance CELSA, přičemž jeden z partnerů musí být vždy z KU Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven / Katolická univerzita Lovaň).

Další členové aliance jsou: ČVUT, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Eötvös Loránd University Budapest (ELTE), Semmelweis University Budapest, University of Ljubljana, University of Tartu, Jagiellonian University Krakow a University of Warsaw.

Předpokládá se, že CELSA podpoří 10-12 nových projektů spolupráce mezi CELSA výzkumníky. Univerzita Karlova bude v této výzvě financovat dva až tři projekty a na každý přispěje RUK částkou max. 30 000 EUR. RUK nijak nelimituje, co lze hradit (vše, na čem se výzkumníci v projektu dohodnou), mimo investiční náklady a občerstvení.

Projekty jsou na 2 roky a mají do 3 let vést ke společnému podání žádostí o projektovou podporu ze zdrojů EU (např. Horizont Evropa).

Pokud uvažujete o podání projektu, v letošním roce bude CELSA organizovat matchmaking exercise, aby došlo k efektivnějšímu zapojení a zvýšil se počet podávaných projektů. Pokud se chcete zapojit, je třeba do 21. 9. 2022 vyjádřit svůj zájem na tomto odkazu<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe-jhg5eTb3f8A7E7Rwa-Blrnj89OF8qVgZln_hz57Mlflw_w/viewform>. Následně dojde k propojování jednotlivých vědkyň a vědců. O výsledku budete informováni začátkem října. 10. 11. 2022 by následně mělo proběhnout osobní setkání zájemců o spolupráci v Lovani. RUK bude refundovat cestu až 10 výzkumníkům, kteří se budou chtít do matchmaking exercise zapojit.

Časový rozvrh výzvy 2022:
Publikace výzvy: červenec 2022
Zaslání návrhů na OGAP: nejpozději do 9. 12. 2022 (pokud byste projekt posílali na poslední chvíli, prosíme o předběžnou informaci o jeho přípravě)
Předání RUK: 13. 12. 2022
Deadline v Leuvenu: 15. 12. 2022
Vyhodnocení projektových návrhů: prosinec 2022 – květen 2023
Vyhlášení výsledků: červenec 2023
Začátek projektů: 1. 10. 2023

Dear colleagues,

the new, already 7th Call of the CELSA Research Fund for the year 2022 has been published.

The fund is open for application for collaborative CELSA Alliance member universities research projects in all scientific disciplines. Condition is that one of the partners must always be from KU Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven).

The other members of the CELSA Alliance are: Czech Technical University, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Eötvös Loránd University Budapest (ELTE), Semmelweis University Budapest, University of Ljubljana, University of Tartu, Jagiellonian University Krakow and University of Warsaw.

It is expected that CELSA will support 10-12 new collaborative projects between CELSA researchers. Charles University will finance 2-3 projects in this call and each of them will be supported by the Rectorate of Charles University by max. amount of 30 000 EUR. CU does not limit the type of expenses (they are generally decided by a common agreement of the researchers), with the exception of investments and refreshments.

The projects are for 2 years and they should lead to a submission of a project proposal with support from the EU (e.g. Horizon Europe) within 3 years since they have started.

If you are considering to prepare a project proposal, in this year CELSA will organise a matchmaking exercise to support the number of submitted project proposals and the efficiency of the programme on whole. After this date the matchmaking will take place between the individual researchers. The researchers will be informed about the results by the beginning of October. On November 10, 2022, an in-person meeting of the interested researchers will be held in Leuven. Charles University can financially support travels of up to 10 researchers to this meeting.
Time schedule for the 2022 call for proposals:
Publication of the call: July 2022
Submission of the project proposals to the Department of Grants and Projects (OGAP): up until December 9, 2022 (should you plan to send the proposal in the last moment, please, inform us in advance about the preparation of the project)
Submission of the project proposal to the Rectorate of CU: 13. 12. 2022
Deadline in Leuven: 15. 12. 2022
Evaluation of the proposals: December 2022 – May 2023
Announcement of the results: July 2023
Start of the projects: 1. 10. 2023

Dear CELSA Board Members,


CELSA aims at promoting research collaboration between its members, to exchange practice at both policy and operational level, and together to find solutions for the major problems Europe is facing. The CELSA Research Fund supports collaborative research projects between researchers of at least two CELSA partners, of which one must be KU Leuven, with the purpose of leveraging their efforts towards future Horizon Europe applications.

To support and to encourage the development of new project ideas and applications, the Regional Committee Central and East Europe of KU Leuven is proposing a new initiative. With this invitation, we kindly invite all researchers within the CELSA partners to reflect on ideas for project proposal submissions for the next CELSA call and beyond, and to participate in a matchmaking exercise. To support these ideas, we are planning a workflow that will go as follows:

  *   Call for expressions of interest sent now during the summer months and repeated in early September. The expressions of interest can be submitted using a Google forms document, with a hard deadline for collecting all expressions of interest by September 21, 12pm.   *   By September 28 the latest, all Research Coordination Offices of each institution will match the expressions of interest with relevant researchers from the respective institutions.
  *   By October 5 the latest, institutions ask their respective researchers who have been matched to the expression of interest whether they are interested in connecting with other researchers on the specific topic.
  *   On October 6, researchers are informed about the group composition and invited to initiate an (online) conversation.
  *   We are planning a live event in Leuven on Thursday November 10 to allow interested partners to engage in the final preparatory steps for a CELSA (or other) project proposal submission. In this event, good practices of former CELSA projects will be presented, details of the CELSA application procedure will be highlighted and opportunities for follow-up projects in the Horizon Europe scheme will be shared with the audience. We will also facilitate live workshops between the applicants to take their project proposals forward. Any travel and accommodation costs are the expenses of the own researcher or institution.
  *   In order to give sufficient room for this initiative, the deadline of the CELSA call will be changed to December 15, 5pm (CET).
