4EU+ Visiting Professors programme - Invitation to lectures by Stefano Pozza

Dear colleagues,

We would like to inform you about possibility to attend series of lectures, which are part of the 4EU+ 2026 consortium's Visiting Professors campaign. The lectures concern NMR and MRI equations: theory and numerical solution and are lead by doc. Stefano Pozza, Dr., Ph.D. from Department of Numerical Mathematics and Pr. Christian BONHOMME from LCMPC. The lectures are in hybrid form and take place at the Laboratory of Condensed Matter Chemistry (LCMCP) at Sorbonne University.

The seminars will be related to linear, nonlinear, and fractional differential equations, which are at the heart of spin dynamics. The latest theoretical developments concerning the *-product and Omega calculus (Pozza, Bonhomme, Giscard, Neto) will be presented. A large part of the teaching will focus on the numerical solution of differential equations using MATLAB.

The aim is to completely "demystify" the mathematics underlying spin dynamics. The seminars are open to all students and permanent staff. There are no prerequisites in mathematics, MATLAB, or spin dynamics. The lessons will be interactive, with challenges to be completed between sessions.

The dates of the seminars (J. LEVISALLES room - Tower 42 - Basement; if you are in Paris) are:
-> 6.3.2026; 9:00 - 12:00
-> 13.3. 2026, 14:00 - 17:00
-> 20.3.2026, 9:00 - 12:00
