Semester scholarship stays at Charles University partner universities in Germany and Switzerland in the academic year 2023/2024 within a framework of inter-university cooperation

Dear All,

let us inform you that the International Relations Office of the Charles University Rectorate announces a call for applications for semester scholarship stays in the academic year 2023/2024 at universities in Germany and Switzerland within a framework of inter-university cooperation. The application portal will be open till April 19, 2023 - see https://is.cuni.cz/webapps/?lang=en. Login is the same as for CAS. After you log in open the "Inter-University Agreemnets" application and click "Apply"

A list of partner universities, offered scholarships per whole Charles University and required documents to be handed in are to be found below. Students still have the possibility to select one university as an alternative to the university of their first choice.

Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main

  *   2 semester scholarships for bachelor, master and doctoral students (winter or summer semester 2023/2024) - 300 EUR per month

Universität des Saarlandes

  *   1 semester scholarship for doctoral students   - 1000 EUR per month (possible to go for several weeks - max. 3 months in the period May - December 2023)

Universität Leipzig

  *   1 semester scholarship for bachelor, master and doctoral students (winter or summer semester 2023/2024) – 400 EUR per month

Universität Heidelberg

  *   2 semester scholarships for bachelor, master and doctoral students (5 months including a German course before the start of the semester; winter or summer semester 2023/2024) - 700 EUR per month

Universität Bonn

  *   1 one-month scholarship for PhD students (May – December 2023) – 1200 EUR per month

Universität Basel

  *   2 semester scholarships for bachelor, master and doctoral students (winter or summer semester 2023/2024) - 1500 CHF per month

Required documents (bachelor and master students):


·         CV in German language

·         Motivation letter in German or English language

·         Study plan https://cuni.cz/UK-3055.html

·         Recommendation letter by a CU faculty member (German or English)

·         Certificate/confirmation of German language proficiency – minimum level B1+

·         Confirmed transcript of study results for the entire studies at the university, average of study results

Required documents (doctoral students):


·         CV (German or English language)

·         Completed Academic visitor application form https://cuni.cz/UK-3055.html

·         Covering letter (German or English language)

·         Summary of the dissertation topic (German or English)

·         Recommendation letter by a CU faculty member (German or English)

·         Confirmation of admission to doctoral studies

·         Certificate/confirmation of German or English language proficiency – level B2

·         Preliminary promise of admission by a teacher from a partner university
